“Unbelievable Story of Love” by Denice Martinez Tejada

     Two years ago, in a Communication Class, in a beautiful spring at Central Venezuelan University, a sophomore student started one of her most interesting stories in her life.

     A forty-year-old teacher called Miguel taught every student in his classes how to communicate well with all people. Most of the time the old teacher used one of his student‘s name to set the example of his course. This attractive student was named Mary. She was always angry with her old teacher, because he putted bad example, like this, “Mary needs a boyfriend who controls”, “Mary’s mother is angry because her daughter has bad friends”. She didn’t like it.

     One day in a difficult class, before the class started, the young student, Mary, told her classmates, very sad!, “I don’t like the Communication teacher because he always gives examples by using my name. I feel bad. Sometimes I think that, our teacher Miguel, only teaches for me”. Her smart classmate told her, “Don’t pay attention to the examples. He only tries to be friendly with you”. “He is the best teacher here”, said her best friend.

     When the good educator started his class that day, he informed that in two weeks he was going to be absent. He had to travel to the Unites States to complete his Doctorate in Education. He assigned them a lot of homework to do while he was absent. In this moment, the lovely student, Mary, said very annoying, “Who is going to teach us our course in Communication?” Then she added, “If you can’t work, don’t work! Immediately, her old smart professor answered and told her, “Be careful when you speak with me. I am your teacher. You must respect me and please don’t say anything more about it”. All intelligent students were very quiet! sss… … … 

     After the class, the pretty Mary was thinking about her old and handsome teacher, but she didn’t know why.

     When the old teacher returned from his trip, the beautiful Mary felt well and was very happy, but she didn’t show it. 

     One night, Mary was using her Facebook very late at night and so was her teacher. All of a sudden, they started to chat. He wrote, “Hi Mary, how are you?” She answered, “Hi teacher, I’m fine”. This conversation was very long. They chatted about the Communication Class, about her, about him. Unexpectedly, they started to chat about love. He told her that she was very beautiful, smart… and that he was in love with her. She said to him, that she was in love with him. He answered, “Great, but we have two problems: you are very young, and I am your teacher. This nice sentiment is impossible”. She was thinking… uhhh… well, it is true. Just imagine that we didn’t talk about our feeling today. 

     Two months later, the clever teacher invited the fresh student to have lunch at a fancy restaurant on a Saturday, and she accepted. They ate together. Inadvertently, one of Mary’s friends saw them and took a picture and posted it on Facebook. On following Monday, the director of the University called the teacher Miguel and told him with very strong voice, “Don’t you know the rules here? Now we have a problem! You don’t see other woman! Why you are with your student?” The director was very angry and made a decision. For you have done that, “you will never work here again!” the director yelled very strong. The old teacher didn’t say anything. He was only thinking of his love, Mary. “For Mary I could do all”.

     Mary felt bad because she thought what happened with her love, Miguel was her fault. And then, Miguel and Mary talked about their situation and made a decision about it. Miguel told Mary, “I didn’t want to interrupt your dreams of your life. That is why I decided to go to other place because I’m older than you. I lost my work, but you never forget that I love you. Immediately, the beautiful Mary answered, “I understand your situation, but you have not thought about my feeling. I love you too; I want to be with you for the rest of my life. Suddenly, Miguel said, “Serious? Really? Are you sure? Uhhhmmm. I am very happy!!! Do you want to marry me my princess? “Of course”, she said. And then, they got married and live very happily ever after.
